Knowing The List Of Commonly Replaced Car Parts

If you’re a vehicle owner, you most probably use your vehicle either most of the time or at least when you get the opportunity. However, with the constant use of your vehicle, its components will also wear out over time and new parts need to be bought to replace them. In case you’re unaware then you must know that the average mileage of a vehicle will be around 10,000 miles in a single year, which means that if you have bought a new vehicle, you don’t need to worry.

But, if you have an old vehicle, which you’ve been using for the last couple of years, then you need to know about the commonly replaced car parts based on the number of miles your vehicle has driven.

The Commonly Replaced Vehicle Parts

  1. Under 40,000 Miles

According to a reliable company for truck removal in Brisbane, when your vehicle has run a total of fewer than 40,000 miles, then you must check the brakes and the headlights. Besides, you also need to keep an eye on the brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid and antifreeze levels.

Additionally, under 40,000 miles, you may have to change your engine oil filter as well. It’s recommended to change engine oil & oil filters every 4,000 miles so that you can enjoy smooth driving.

  1. From 40,000 To 70,000 Miles

When your vehicle has run between 40,000 and 70,000 miles, then the first thing that you need to replace is your engine’s air filter. The air filter is responsible for preventing the clogging up of the engine cylinders. Every 40,000 miles, it will need to be replaced, so that you can ensure that your vehicle engine is doing its job properly.

The second component of your vehicle that you may need to take a look at are the tyres. Constant usage will wear them out. Usually, a car tyre has a lifespan of around 70,000 miles.

Apart from the above-mentioned components, you also have to check the brake pads. Brake pads wear out based on the amount of time you spend with your vehicle, but the rule of thumb is that they need to be replaced every 60,000 miles.

  1. From 70,000 To 100,000 Miles (And Beyond)

When your vehicle has clocked beyond 70,000 miles, then the time has arrived to take a keen look at your brake components, because they’re in constant usage. Even though your vehicle brakes are built to last, you may have to replace the brake callipers, master cylinders and wheel cylinders every 100,000 miles. The same can be said about your clutch and the fuel pump.

And when your vehicle isn’t worth fixing, then it’s time to scrap your vehicle and purchase a new one instead.
